    Type 3s Denim Jacket ~ 15y Denim

    Our 15y Anniversary Type 3s denim jacket utilizes a brand new fabric coupled with unique detailing. This Type 3s utilizes our 15 year fabric: a 16.5oz raw indigo selvedge denim woven in Japan with heavy variance in the warp yarn. This heavy slub yarn gives a beautiful, inconsistent vertical falling that will only become more pronounced as the fabric wears in over time. This denim is sanforized – so no presoak is necessary. The pocketbags are remnant flannel fabrics that we’ve used over the years, giving variance from piece to piece.

    Type 3s Jacket ~ Waxed

    3Sixteen type 3s denim jacket pays homage to the classic Type III design with a few notable differences. The body has been slightly lengthened. Absent from the jacket are the standard Type III back seams and waist cinches; we opted to give the back of the jacket a cleaner design by replacing the original yoke with our trademark crossed back. This Type 3s Jacket features a waxed canvas to repel wind and wet conditions.

    Schott ~ Chromexcel Horsehide A-2

    The leather is a custom tannage made exclusively for this project by Horween Leather Company in Chicago and is a tea-core chromexcel horsehide that starts out black but exhibits brown undertones as it’s worn. The leather has been heavily milled to give it a softer, more supple hand and to bring out those brown undertones. The arms are slim, and the body has been slightly lengthened without negatively affecting the higher-waisted look that a flight jacket should have. 3sixteen chose to include hidden side entries to the front flap pockets for the sake of practicality, and also added a custom sheepskin collar that is detachable should the wearer want a cleaner look.

    Type 1s Jacket ~ 5×5 Denim

    The Type 1s denim jacket is our modernized take on a classic denim jacket silhouette.This Type 1s Jacket features a beautiful Japanese 5×5 weave denim from Nihon Menpu. Unlike a standard 3×1 denim twill, this basket weave has a different hand and appearance; it’s got coarse texture that is really brought to the forefront by the mill rinse. What this results in is a jacket that is soft and ready to wear from day one, but will still fade as it’s worn and washed over time. Unlike other raw denim jackets that need to be broken in for a month or two before they relax, this one drapes just right on the first wear.

    Type 3s Denim Jacket ~ Washed 101x

    We’ve produced a limited run of stonewashed Type 3s denim jackets out of our lightweight 12oz indigo selvedge denim. The fabric is a 12oz raw indigo selvedge denim that is woven exclusively for us by Kuroki Mills in Okayama, Japan. We work with a local wash house in Los Angeles, CA to put the jacket through a multi-stage stonewash process to bring the character of the fabric out. Made in the USA.

This Type 3s Jacket features a 12oz raw ecru selvedge denim that has been given a hot wash and line dry for added softness.

    Officer Coat ~ Black Melton Wool

    FW20 marks our first foray into wool outerwear with our friends at Schott NYC. Although they are known for their leather outerwear, Schott has been producing exceptional wool coats in New Jersey for years.  We opted to update their classic officer coat with a beefy 28oz wool and a Japanese rayon lining. The result is a tank of a coat that can stand up to the coldest winter days. Made in the USA.

    Schott ~ Waxy Steerhide Perfecto

    It’s built off Schott’s 519 silhouette: a modernized, slimmer version of their classic 613 Perfecto. As we’ve done in previous collaborations, the belt and epaulets have been eliminated for a cleaner look. The leather is a custom tannage developed by Schott that we have the honor of debuting on this jacket – it’s a waxy cowhide with a matte black finish and a supple hand that belies its weight. We chose a mixed-hardware approach with matte black zips on the hand and chest pockets, matte black snaps, and nickel front and sleeve zips. The body is lined with a leopard-patterned rayon that is woven in Japan, while the sleeves are satin-lined for comfort. Made in the USA.
